Being a responsible corporate citizen is one of our core values at Kraemer Materials. The environment is important to us and we do our part to make sure that we operate in harmony with the lands, plants and wildlife that surround us.
Our Burnsville Quarry is virtually a wildlife refuge. Every year we see deer, wild turkey, ducks, geese, bald eagles, fox, coyote and other animals that make their homes around our operations.
Kraemer Materials also worked with the City of Burnsville to create the Rudy Kraemer Nature Preserve. This 93-acre park located just south of Highway 13 at Chowen Avenue is a restored prairie and wetland park with picnic areas and walking trails.
Kraemer Materials also has a 12.5-acre wetland mitigation area in Burnsville. This prairie restoration project will replace the hydrology of the area and has been reseeded to native species.
In addition, we are also managing three acres of wetlands near the Mille Lacs Quarry.
|We have also developed a plan for a Water Treatment Plant that is providing drinking water for local communities as an alternative to drilling new wells.
